Beta-Decay Theory and the Spectrum of Rb87

The shape of the third forbidden β spectrum of Rb87 has been analyzed. It has been found to be consistent with (i) a mixture of vector and axial vector interactions, (ii) the same value and sign of the ratio gAgV as found for the neutron, and (iii) a shell model evaluation of the nuclear matrix elements.
