Magnetocaloric Effect in Single Crystals of $R{\rm CoGaO}_{4}$ ($R =$ Lu, Yb) Layered Cobaltites

Abstract

The magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effect of single crystals $RCoGaO_{4}(R=Lu,\ Yb)$ layered cobaltites were investigated. The strong anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility for $YbCoGaO_{4}$ crystal confirms its Ising spin glass behavior while in $LuCoGaO_{4}$ crystal Heisenberg-like spin glass phase is observed.
