Survey of lumbar discectomy practices: 10 years in the making

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Lumbar discectomy is a common spinal procedure. The purpose of this survey is to ascertain neurosurgeons' practices in the surgical management of one-level lumbar discectomies in the Canadian adult population and to determine changes over a 10-year period. METHODS: One-page questionnaire distributed electronically to neurosurgeons in Canada and results were compared with similarly completed survey from 2007.
