Abstract

Multimerin is a novel, massive, soluble protein that resembles von Willebrand factor in its repeating, homomultimeric structure. Both proteins are expressed by megakaryocytes and endothelial cells and are stored in the region of platelet alpha-granules resembling Weibel-Palade bodies.
