Abstract
Since the chronically cyanotic myocardium appears to be more susceptible to reperfusion injury after cardiac operations than the noncyanotic myocardium, we studied the association between the preoperative arterial oxygen tension and the myocardial superoxide dismutase, catalase, and glutathione peroxidase activities.
