Abstract
Heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) is a clinicopathologic syndrome, characterised clinically by thrombocytopenia and a high risk for thrombosis, and pathologically by the formation of heparin-dependent immunoglobulin G that activates platelets via their Fc receptor.
