Integrated Process-Metallurgy Modeling: Example of Precipitation During Coil Cooling

ARCELOR developed different models to describe steel metallurgy and production processes based on physical description of the phenomena. The requirements of the model and example of an application concerning coil cooling behind a hot strip mill was presented. The as-cooled products showed a ferrite microstructure with a small proportion of pearlite.
