Study of kinetics and mechanisms of iron ore reduction in ore/coal composites

Abstract

The kinetics and mechanisms of iron ore reduction in solid state in ore/coal composites were studied and a non-isothermal, non-isobaric mathematical model was developed. Heat transfer is shown to be the dominant rate limiting step to overall reaction in the ore/coal composite. An increase in heat flux may be achieved by increasing the temperature of heat source and increasing effective thermal conductivity by various means. For practical …
