Efficient broadband wavelength converter for WDM optical communication systems

Abstract

The paper presents a 1.5-μm-band wavelength conversion method for wavelength division multiplexing optical communication systems. The method is based on quasi-phase-matching difference-frequency generation (QPM-DFG). Efficient broadband wavelength conversion was achieved in a periodically domain-inverted LiNbO3 channel waveguide.
