Comparison of wavelength conversions based on quasiphase matched difference frequency generation and cascaded χ(2) nonlinear interactions
Abstract
Main characteristics of difference frequency generation and cascaded χ(2) nonlinear interaction based wavelength conversions in QPM waveguides were compared from the viewpoints of practical applications. The results are helpful in choosing wavelength converters for optical communication applications.
