Multiplexed prototype oxide phosphor/ceramic substrate EL display

A new high brightness matrix addressed prototype 16×16 pixel EL display with ceramic substrate/green oxide phosphor has been developed. The green phosphors offer excellent color purity (λmax = 525 nm). It may be processed at temperature as low as 650 °C. They are less reactive with moisture than sulphide phosphors. The steep brightness vs. voltage behavior (>1 fL/volt at 60 Hz) of these oxide phosphors allows for matrix addressed EL displays.
