Protein -rejecting silicone surface immobilization of poly(ethylene oxide) by covalent bonds
Abstract
The use of silicone equilibration to introduce covalent bond on the surface of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) using hydrosilylation was analyzed. Acid catalyzed equilibration of a silicone elastomer in the presence of (MeHSiO) n introduced a surface Si-H group. Platinum-catalyzed hydrosilylation with allyl-terminated PEO covalently linked the polymers to the silicone surfaces. Results show that the mono- and bisallyl-PEO chains can be covalently …
