Antithrombotic actions of statins.
Abstract
Aspirin depresses thrombin generation, probably through a mechanism independent of the cyclooxygenase inhibition, but rather related to acetylation of the platelet membrane macromolecules. This action of aspirin is blunted in hypercholesterolemia.
