Calpain inhibitors exhibit matrix metalloproteinase-2 inhibitory activity

Abstract

Matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2 is a zinc-dependent endopeptidase which, alongside its known extracellular actions, plays fundamental roles in oxidative stress-induced injury to the heart.
