While polycations based on 2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate and 2-(dimethylamino)ethyl acrylate are used in applications ranging from biomaterials to wastewater treatment, few studies have considered the remarkable differences in the hydrolytic stabilities of the respective ester groups.
