Classification by progressive generalization: A new automated methodology for remote sensing multichannel data

Abstract

A new procedure for digital image classification is described. The procedure, labelled Classification by Progressive Generalization (CPG), was developed to avoid drawbacks associated with most supervised and unsupervised classifications.
