A Detailed Modular Approach for Induction Machines Considering Iron Loss

Abstract

In modeling of induction machines, usually iron loss is not considered. Neglecting the effect of iron loss results in performance deterioration, especially in torque regulation in field oriented control. In this paper, a new comprehensive state space model of induction machines considering iron loss is presented in detail. In this modular approach all machine parameters are accessible for control and verification purposes. After implementing the model, indirect field oriented control employing conventional model and a model considering iron loss are implemented and the resultant torque and speed of the machine simulation are presented.
