Opioid receptors in human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells: Evidence for distinct morphine (μ) and enkephalin (δ) binding sites

Abstract

Human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells exhibited a heterogeneous population of mu and delta types of opioid binding sites. These specific binding sites displayed the characteristic saturability, stereospecificity and reversibility, expected of a receptor.
