Venous thrombosis and hyperhomocysteinaemia
Abstract
We report a 39‐year‐old man with a history of recurrent deep venous thrombosis (DVT) whose only laboratory‐identified risk factor was moderate hyperhomocysteinaemia. After being lost to follow‐up without intervention, he presented with another DVT. Apart from standard anticoagulation therapy, he received vitamin supplementation (folate and vitamin 8 1 J, which normalised his elevated plasma homocysteine level.
