Bragg gratings in spun fibers
Abstract
Optical spectrum and polarization properties, including polarization-dependent reflectivity and loss and polarization-mode dispersion, of Bragg gratings imprinted in spun fibers with intrinsic asymmetric stress and millimeter spin periods are studied. Based on the proposed coupled-mode equations, the grating spectra are simulated, and potential applications are introduced.
