Electroluminescence of Zn2GeO4:Mn through SiC whisker electric field enhancement
Abstract
Alternating current (AC) electroluminescence of thin film oxide phosphors is well known. However in this work electroluminescence of bulk oxide powder phosphors is achieved. A new type of AC Electroluminescent (ACEL) device has been created and developed by integrating SiC whiskers into a phosphor matrix composed of manganese-activated zinc germanate (Zn2GeO4:Mn2+).
