Convexity of yield loci for pressure sensitive materials

The convexity of a yield/failure locus in the octahedral (π) plane is examined using an appropriate analytical criterion. Various π-plane generalizations, applicable to frictional materials, are considered. Some new, simple and convex forms of the function g(θ) are proposed
