Fast Quantitative Microwave Imaging Based on Measured Point Spread Functions and Inversion in Real Space

Abstract

Experimental validation is carried out for the recently developed real-time quantitative imaging method which exploits direct inversion in real space. The electrical properties of the dielectric target are reconstructed using a resolvent kernel in the forward model which is extracted from the calibration measurements of the system point-spread functions. Since the method does not need analytical or numerical approximations of the forward model, it is particularly valuable in near-field imaging.
