SNR Assessment of Microwave Imaging Systems

Abstract

A method to assess the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of microwave imaging acquisition systems is proposed. The method can be used to automatically discriminate between high-and low-quality responses acquired with a given setup or to compare acquisition hardware. The approach uses the measurements of a known calibration object, which are often available from the calibration of the microwave acquisition system.
