TURBULENCE CLOSURE MODELING OF TWO-PHASE FLOWS

Abstract

A second order turbulence closure model is developed for the numerical prediction of isothermal non-reacting, two-phase turbulent shear flows. This model is based on the two-equation (k - ε) model but treats the continuous (gas) phase and (solid) particulate phase as separate interacting continua.
