Dr. Dongdong Wang is an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine. His research focuses on understanding molecular mechanism of metabolic disease and drug discovery for obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, aging and others by using cutting-edge technology such as multi-omics (single cell spatial transcriptomics) and machine/deep learning (AI). His research program has uncovered a key mechanism for promoting weight loss and maintaining the burning of calories in muscle during dieting (Nature, 2023, 619(7968):143-150). In recognition of his contributions he has won numerous national and international research awards.
