Overview

Dr. Mike Waddington holds a Canada Research Chair in Ecohydrology and is a Professor in the School of Earth, Environment & Society. Dr. Waddington has over 30 years of both wetland science and ecosystem restoration expertise, and co-founded the scientific journal Ecohydrology. Dr. Waddington uses innovative field experimental manipulations and modelling to examine the impacts of wildfire, drought, and resource development on wetland ecosystems. He is working with resource managers, fire managers, and industrial partners to develop innovative ecosystem adaptation, species at risk wetlands habitat restoration and wetland restoration strategies.
