Taryn Simms

Associate Professor, Medicine

Dr. Taryn Simms completed her medical degree and residency training in internal medicine and respirology at the University of Toronto. She subsequently completed subspecialty training in sleep medicine as a clinical scholar at McMaster University in 2015. Dr. Simms practices sleep medicine at the Firestone Institute for Respiratory Health at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and inpatient and outpatient respirology at Juravinksi Hospital and Cancer Centre. She is an Associate Professor at McMaster, with an academic focus in education and administration. Dr. Simms is the fellowship director of the McMaster Sleep Disorder Medicine AFC Program and serves as Deputy Medical Director of the St. Joseph’s sleep laboratory. She is active within the core respirology residency program as Respirology Education Site Coordinator at Juravinski Hospital and serves on the Respirology Competence Committee.
