Dr. Nina Ahuja is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery at McMaster University, an ophthalmic surgeon, medical educator, and nationally recognized healthcare leader. She has held several academic leadership roles at McMaster, including Ophthalmology Residency Program Director and Academic Division Head of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Ahuja is President and Board Chair of the Canadian Ophthalmological Society and has contributed extensively to medical education, professional standards, health advocacy, and healthcare policy. She is the founder and CEO of Docs in Leadership, through which she develops and delivers education in emotionally intelligent leadership, professional well-being, and respectful workplace culture.
She is the bestselling author of Stress in Medicine and a TEDx speaker whose talk, The Ripple Effect of Respect, explores how everyday interactions shape individuals, relationships, and work and learning environments.
