Dr. Mirnasab completed his Ph.D. in Psychology and Special Education at the University of Tehran in 2006 and had a visiting lectureship position at the University of Newcastle, Australia. For ten years, he had been working at the University of Tabriz as an Associate Professor, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Psychology and Education, and Head of the Education Department. He held clinical positions at Razi Psychiatric Hospital of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences as a Registered Child and Adolescent Psychologist, where he provided clinical assessment and intervention services, taught behaviour therapy to Ph.D. students in the department of psychiatry, and served as a consultant for the Research Center of Psychiatry and Behavioural Sciences. He had also been working in private practice and had offered behaviour modification workshops at the Tabriz Health Center, Ministry of Health and Medical Education. Dr. Mirnasab also received a second M.A. degree from Brock University in Child and Youth Studies.
Before joining McMaster, Dr. Mirnasab served as co-founder and clinical director of the Centre for Family and Child Psychology. He conducted psychological assessments and provided evidence-based interventions for children, adolescents, and families across private practice clinics in Oakville, Burlington, Milton, and Toronto.
Dr. Mirnasab has authored several scientific articles in peer-reviewed Journals and published books in the field of child and adolescent psychopathology. He is a member of the Ontario Psychological Association (OPA) and the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA).
