Overview
Our research interests are in the area of bioinformatics, molecular
evolution and DNA sequence analysis. Our research attempts to understand
how the processes of evolution act to cause the changes actually observed
between molecules, between genes and between genomes. The recent advances
in molecular genetics generate DNA sequence data at enormous rates.
The implications of this huge amount of data are not always clear.
We make use of computer based analysis, statistical analysis and
mathematical models to answer broad questions about the biology of all
organisms
