Overview

Amanda Bell is a graduate of McMaster’s medical school and has been practicing as a small-town family physician in Niagara since 2000 with clinical interest in adolescent medicine and women’s health. She is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine. She served as Regional Assistant Dean of the Niagara Regional Campus at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine since 2017-2026. She has completed a Master’s in Health Science Education Program at McMaster where her area of research was student mistreatment. Amanda’s research interests include distributed medical education, professionalism, student mistreatment and experience and leadership development. Amanda has received the John C. Sibley Award for Excellence in Education from the Faculty of Health Sciences as well as a Certificate of Merit from the Canadian Association for Medical Education and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario Council Award. She is fueled by her family, chocolate, reading, Netflix and laughter.

 

Special Interests: student mistreatment, distributed medical education, professionalism, women's health, adolescent medicine.
