Overview
Ayham Alomari is the Senior Director - Health in Emergencies for the Canadian Red Cross. In this capacity, he leads health in emergencies services in Canada and internationally, including public health in emergencies, epidemic & pandemic readiness and response, emergency clinical services, and International Humanitarian Health Services / Emergency Response Unit (ERU) including emergency field hospitals and clinics. He also serves as an adjunct lecturer in Global Health and Global Surgery at the McMaster University in Canada.
Prior to joining Canadian Red Cross in 2016, he held different technical and leadership roles with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), American Red Cross, and Syrian Red Crescent at the field, regional and global levels. With over 20 years of Canadian and global experience, he has led initiatives in emergency health readiness and response, community health, policy, transformation and health innovation.
Ayham holds an MSc. in Global Health from the University of Manchester, an M.D. from Damascus University, a Certified Health Executive (CHE) credential from the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL), and a Coaching Certificate.
