Overview

Meagan MacKenzie is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour. She teaches undergraduate courses in psychopathology, positive psychology, and personality, with a focus on making complex psychological concepts accessible, relevant, and applicable. Her research has examined anxiety disorders, particularly social anxiety, as well as mindfulness and self-help interventions aimed at improving mental health and wellbeing. She is currently conducting research on factors that shape university student well-being, including mental health service usage, with a focus on how demographic and relational factors influence help-seeking behavior. Dr. MacKenzie is actively involved in developing engaging, evidence-based curricula for both in-person and online formats. She is a recipient of the MSU Excellence in Teaching Award in recognition of her commitment to student learning and educational innovation.
