At the Centre for Community-Engaged Narrative Arts (CCENA), addressing societal inequities relies on recognizing the inherent value of diverse communities' everyday knowledge—especially their narratives. CCENA focuses on learning from community stories and traditions to understand how communities envision themselves and their relationships. Through supporting art-based community listening, remembering, and story-making, CCENA fosters the storytelling process. We facilitate connections between community members, other communities, and various media and expertise sources to empower them in sharing their stories.
