Dr. Dongdong Wang is an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine. He holds the J. Bruce Duncan Chair in Metabolic Diseases. His research focuses on understanding molecular mechanism of metabolic disease and drug discovery for obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, aging and others by using cutting-edge technology such as multi-omics (single cell spatial transcriptomics) and machine/deep learning (AI). His work has been published in prestigious journals, including Nature, Cell Metabolism, Nature Reviews Endocrinology, Cell Reports Medicine, Diabetes, Pharmacological Reviews, Biotechnology Advances, and Seminars in Cancer Biology, among many others. In recognition of his contributions he has won numerous national and international research awards.
