Dr. Sokar-Todd is a family physician in Burlington and a graduate of the McMaster School of Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at McMaster. In addition to her family practice in Burlington, she is a Clinical Assistant Professor at McMaster University.
In addition to being a family physician, Dr. Sokar-Todd began her healthcare career in 1985 as an academic pharmacist (research and teaching at Universities of Alexandria, Egypt, London, and Toronto). She completed a Master thesis in Drug formulation and Stability. She holds a PhD from the University of London, United Kingdom in Practice and Policy. Her first postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto looked at pharmacists contribution to primary health care in Canada, and her second postdoctoral fellowship at McMaster produced guidance to policy makers and stakeholders towards obesity opportunities, research gaps and care in Canada.
