Dr. Alex Sévigny, APR is a tenured associate professor of communication management at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He is an expert in strategic communication management. Dr. Sévigny has published on sports management, artificial intelligence and strategy. His research and practice are focused on data-driven strategy, decision-making and governance. His most recent work has focused on automation and digital transformation, including generative artificial intelligence, robotics, as well as augmented and virtual reality.
Dr. Sévigny is also the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Professional Communication and the chief examiner of the Accredited in Public Relations program for the Canadian Public Relations Society. He has an extensive background in political communication, and has consulted globally as an advisor and a trainer for governments, not-for-profits, as well as large, global corporations.
He is currently finishing a book with co-author Martin Waxman on how AI is transforming strategy and workflow in the creative professions.
