Overview

Dr. Sandre (he/him) is an Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine at McMaster University with additional training in Vascular Medicine. Dr. Sandre holds a Master of Health Professions Education (MHPE) from Maastricht University (2025), and a Master of Science in Global Health from McMaster University (2015). Dr. Sandre’s academic interests include curriculum analysis through a critical lens, with a particular focus on the inclusion of gender diversity. His work explores how medical education can better address the needs of transgender and gender-diverse patients by identifying and challenging structural gaps in current teaching practices.

 

Dr. Sandre attends on the in-patient and out-patient General Internal Medicine and Thrombosis services at Hamilton General Hospital. Dr. Sandre provides care to patients with arterial and venous thrombosis, arteriopathies, and high-risk primary or secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease. Dr. Sandre has developed clinical and academic expertise in vascular care of gender diverse patients.
