Lynda Redwood-Campbell

Dr. Lynda Redwood-Campbell is a Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Education and Innovation at McMaster University, and an internationally recognized physician, medical educator, humanitarian, and global health leader. With more than 25 years of experience in humanitarian medicine, she has contributed to over 40 international disaster and emergency responses with the Canadian and International Red Cross, working across diverse and resource-limited settings. Her scholarship and professional interests encompass humanitarian health, global and primary health care, health equity, immigrant and refugee health, disaster preparedness and response, and health professions education.

As Humanitarian Lead at the Mary Heersink School of Global Health and Social Medicine, Dr. Redwood-Campbell provides leadership at the intersection of humanitarian action, education, research, and health equity. Her work is grounded in a commitment to strengthening health systems, advancing ethical and culturally responsive care, and preparing health professionals to serve effectively in complex and rapidly changing environments. Through her clinical, academic, and humanitarian leadership, she continues to advance innovative approaches to education and health care that respond to the needs of vulnerable populations locally and globally.
