McMaster University has a long history of training ceramic engineers for the Canadian ceramics industry. The ceramic engineering undergraduate program at McMaster is now a named 'stream' within the Materials Engineering degree program. Students enter this stream following a year I program common to all engineering disciplines and an introductory year in Materials Engineering. The specialized material particular to ceramic engineering begins in the third year.
