Ionic fragmentation of inner shell excited states of CO2 and N2O

Abstract

The relative abundances of fragment ions produced in the decay of the (C Is−1, π*) inner shell excited state of CO2 and the (N Is−1, π*) states of N2O involving promotion of either the terminal (NT) or central (NC) nitrogen Is electrons, have been investigated by an electron-ion coincidence technique.
