An Experimental Model for the Systematic Investigation of Stone Fracture by Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy

Abstract

An experimental model of stone fracture utilizing "Z" brick is presented. The model is described and it is applied to determine the effects of varying numbers of shocks, voltage and to make inferences about some of the fracture mechanisms occurring during ESWL.
