Twins in the family.
Abstract
The birth of two babies has an enormous impact on a family. This article describes coping mechanisms for the first three years, emphasizing the babies' psychological and developmental tasks, the parents' abilities to handle these transitions, and the impact on siblings. Each baby needs to feel that it is `the only one', each parent needs help, and each sibling still needs to feel `special'.
