COMMENT ON TE RECRYSTALLIZATION BEHAVIOUR OF Al-Mg ALLOYS.

The recrystallization kinetics of commercial purity Al and an Al-5% Mg-alloy subject to 80% deformation by rolling have been compared. The overall kinetics of recrystallization were similar. A prior recovery heat treatment at 180 degree C had a negligible effect on the subsequent kinetics. The grain size and grain size distribution after recrystallization was different in the two materials. The dislocation structures were also different.
