Abstract
Current guidelines support the use of corticosteroids and azathioprine as one possible treatment strategy for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). However, some patients with genetic polymorphisms of thiopurine methyltransferase (TPMT) are at risk of severe azathioprine myelotoxicity.
