Water modeling of vacuum decarburization in a ladle

Abstract

Decarburization and top injection of oxidizing gases in a tank degasser have been modeled with CO2 desorption from, and absorption to an aqueous solution. The mass transfer coefficients for the top surface, and bubbles were obtained; The effects of freeboard pressure and top lancing were examined.
