abstract

  • Treatment of benzene (1), biphenyl (2) and o- and m-xylene (3 and 4) with 4% v/v concentrated HCl (concentrated DCl) in D2O at 250 °C results in selective deuteration of the aromatic nucleus with excellent isotopic incorporation and quantitative yield.
