Highly Bendable and Stretchable Electrodes Based on Micro/Nanostructured Gold Films for Flexible Sensors and Electronics

Abstract

A simple and cost‐effective method to produce gold electrodes that are stretchable and highly conductive under strains as large as 130% is presented. The method relies on the fabrication of structured gold films through the compressive stress generated by thermal shrinking of a carrier substrate, and their transfer to elastomeric substrates through a lift‐off approach.
