Star Formation in Accretion Disks
Abstract
The route from the formation of a molecular cloud to the appearance of an association of young stellar objects with a well defined IMF is a formidable challenge for modern theories of star formation. No theory of star formation can be complete without answering two fundamental questions: 1. what determines the mass reservoir for a star, and 2. what determines the accretion rate out of that reservoir.
